GRAHAM BELL,OAM

Mr Gurmesh Singh (Coffs Harbour) (18;14) Coffs Harbour's  Graham Bell has devoted his life to making his community a better place to live, so much so that he was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in the recent Queen's Birthday List.

This outstanding achievement is an acknowledgment of Graham's passion to entertain and his enormous work in the Commercial Radio and the ABC, and started Coffs Harbour's Community Radio Station 2AIRFM.

He even built a studio in his home and produced a weekly country music show, which was broadcast by the ABC Australia wide and 15 Australian Commercial stations and this program was picked up by Nashville in the US. It was syndicated and broadcast in the U.S.

In 2020, Graham was inducted into the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame for broadcasting. The founder and now a life member  of 2AIRFM  was pleasantly surprised when  he received word of his OAM.

I congratulate Graham on this well deserved recognition.
